TPO waterproof membrane is a thermoplastic polyolefin material that combines the long-term weather resistance and durability of ethylene propylene rubber with the weldability of polypropylene. A polyester fabric layer sandwiched between two layers of TPO material enhances its physical properties, improving tensile strength, fatigue resistance, and puncture resistance. With high reflectivity and no chlorine content, it is environmentally friendly and ensures construction safety.
TPO roof membranes are classified into:

Description of TPO Membrane Properties
• Crafted via advanced polymerization technology, this product combines ethylene propylene rubber and polypropylene, integrating the superior weather resistance/durability of the former with the weldability of the latter.
• Leveraging special formulation technology, it eliminates the need for plasticizers prone to causing material embrittlement. It offers high flexibility while preventing the embrittlement common in polyolefin materials due to plasticizer migration, ensuring long-term waterproof performance.
• Reinforced with a sandwiched polyester fiber fabric layer, the membrane gains high tensile strength, fatigue resistance, and puncture resistance—ideal for mechanically fixed roof systems.
• Exhibits excellent thermal stability: remains flexible at -40°C and retains mechanical strength under elevated temperatures.
• Chemically inert: resists corrosion from acids, alkalis, salts, animal/vegetable oils, and lubricants, while inhibiting microbial growth (e.g., algae, mold).
• Light-colored (predominantly white) with a smooth, highly reflective surface, delivering energy-saving benefits and pollution resistance.
• Chlorine-free—contains no chlorinated polymers or chlorine gas emissions during welding/use—making it environmentally safe and human-health-friendly.
• High-strength sealing is achieved via hot welding at overlaps, forming a robust bond.
